I purchased this extractor to replace my old one which died. Its been in service for about a month now and is working very well. It has a bag which fits over the paper element,(very easy to fit) So it can suck up very fine dust, without blowing it back into the air. I use it a lot in my woodwork shed to clear dust from my lathe, bandsaw and power tools. The extractor comes with several adaptors and a nice long hose. But needs a smaller hose for powertools. All in all its a very powerful extractor which is sraight forward to use and well worth the money.

I am relatively new to DIY but have taken on a rennovation project that has thrown me in at the deep end. This saw has been wonderful at everything I have asked it to do so far. It seems to me to be very well made and of high quality, and whilst I have not had to use it day-in day-out as a professional might it certainly has performed well for me.

Bought this as a means to obtaining perfectly straight cuts for all those little woodwork jobs around the house. Once set up, it seemed to work well. It was not set perfectly from the factory and it took a few practice cuts, tiny adjustments and checks with a tri-square to get it right but, once this was done, the cuts were then spot-on. For the price it's a very sturdy piece of kit and a joy to use; wish I'd bought one years ago!

As a hard core DIY'er I thought that this would be a fantastic tool for areas that had no power supply. I bought it as a bare item and have been using my DW jigsaw battery in it. When I first used it I felt that it was underpowered for its use however when I actually got it to work on wood it was very up to the job. I would say that it obviously does not have the oomph of a mains circular saw but if you just take it easy with it it is a genuinely great tool. The spare battery is an absolute must. If you are just cutting board all day this is more than adequate for the job.

The Numatic George is one of the most versatile machines you could ever own for your home.

First of all there is the standard vacuum function, this is pretty much the same as a Henry but with a larger capacity, the suction is very good and combined with a turbo head will give exceptional results on carpets with pets in the household. The use of Hepa flo bags will bring it up to full Hepa spec like those gimmicky bagless types, but cleaner for those with allergies.

The carpet shampoo function of this unit is excellent, I actually own the professional CT470 version of this which is the shampoo only professional machine, and use it frequently for my clients carpets in my cleaning business. When used with a good quality chemical (prochem extraction pro) great results can be achieved, better so than the orange vax units (which my folks own) which are lesser powered. The shampoo accessories are very nice and spray control is given by a handy trigger valve, unlike the orange vax (sorry but i bet you're looking at that unit too) the system seems to be purposely built and doesn't have slack solution hose when using the upholstery attachment.

Overall this is a great quality unit for the home from a respected and well recognised brand and is British built warrantied for 2 years. Honestly im not a salesman for Numatic but this unit really is best in class and is pretty much a great professional product which will fill your every day cleaning needs.

This is an excellent wet and dry cleaner. It has been around for many years. I have recently bought a replacement, after 12 years of trouble free service from the last one.

The machine is noisy but the suction is consistent and powerful, whether in Wet or Dry use.

I already have two of these Hammerdrills and just thought it was such a shame I hadnt seen this before buying the first two - as its cheaper and in fact a slightly better model as it has a much easier battery pack. Great all round drill for the serious tradesman or DIY enthusiast. The company sent it beautifully packaged within a few days and I used it the day it arrived- and ever since! If I need a fourth one I will buy again.!!!

Outstanding from Makita, 1 Mar 2011

I bought this kit a few months back now for help with my work as an electrician. I am still chuffed to bits with my decision to buy it. I put a lot of thought and research into whether I should buy this or a cordless 18v Li-ion hammer drill. I looked into ALL the different 18v Li-ion's on the market and searched youtube for video reviews on them. My research singled out the makita, dewalt and the lightweight bosch machines.

(Tip: take it from me stay well away from the milwaukee 18v Li-ionhammerdrills! Battery life is rediculously poor)

So which one do i pick? The Makita BHP452RFWX 18V Combi Drill 2 Speed *Limited edition or the DeWalt XRP DC988L1 18V li-ion Cordless Combi Drill. They are relatively the same price as the makita 10.8v twin pack but then do i want the Bosch GSR182LI 18V li-ion Drill/Driver 2 x 1.3 Ah for its class leading light weight of 1.5kg's. I even considered Panasonics EY7940LZ2S 14.4 Drill Driver.
Hmmm...

I looked into torque, battery life, battery charging times, battery technology, battery replacement costs, unit costs, other peoples reviews, what you get in the box, size, features, etc etc. I really put the work in! After all I wanted a reliable unit that got the job done.

Conclusion:
Even though the 18v units were had good specs they were just to heavy for working overhead and for long periods.
The panasonic machines were very nice but very expensive against other brands.

I ended up going with the Makita LCT204W 10.8V Li-ion 2 Piece Kit. Lightweight and good for all the jobs I need it for. And don't be put off by the small 10.8v, it powers into the concrete between bricks. The battery lasts and the charge times and battery technology is state of the art.
I even found original makita gun style belt holsters which are a nice touch. Lots of torque settings, quick chucks, variable speed triggers, nice weight and shape in the hand and an all important work light (great for an electrician) that some of the dewalts did not have. The aluminium case is also a nice touch too. I am really pleased with the kit. I have yet to find a use for the impact driver as the drill/driver tackles all the drilling tasks ive thrown at it so far.

Ok it wont handle any serious masonary drilling, thats what my Titan TTB277SDS 3.5kg SDS Plus Rotary Hammer Drill is for. Trust me, this is a beast, it glides through masonary and a great price too of £60!!!!!(from screwfix)

So there you have it, my review of the Makita LCT204W 10.8V Li-ion 2 Piece Kit. A good all rounder. And for those serious tasks get the TITAN. Both kits for just over £200.

The good news is that this saw is versatile as claimed but sadly let down by poor quality control. My Vitrex pro600 tile saw needed to be disassembled to set it up correctly before using it. Some of this is down to the poor packaging that allows the contents to bang around inside the undamaged box. The guide rail arrived dented as a result. Other problems found:

The saw blade was not set perpendicular to the cutting bed/tile; it can be adjusted using the bridge bolts that were loose!
The suction pump needed to be disassembled so that the front plate sealed properly!
The bolt heads were proud on the cutting deck because the countersinking for the caps screws is too shallow.
The cutting disk supplied is poor quality and chips marble.
Some of the stand holes needed clearing so that the spring lugs could engage.
The blade cover would not come off without persuasion because one of the welded studs on the blade cover was poorly aligned.

The Pro 600 cuts very well indeed and has good capacity for the price but only after basic quality control problems are sorted. It is a pity, otherwise it would have got a four stars.
